Starting my career in residential estate agency at 18 years old, I quickly became excited about the property industry. I liked the fast-paced environment, the team atmosphere, and the ability to meet new people every day. Whilst the day-to-day goal was to sell houses, I thrived on trying to match our clients with new properties, almost like patching together a complex and often emotionally driven jigsaw.

It was therefore a bit of a shock five years later when transitioning into the development world, the fast-paced environment was replaced with complex transactions, the emotive sales were replaced by political bureaucracy, and the day-to-day deals were replaced by the frustrating planning process we are forced to navigate.

That said, I feel incredibly lucky to be involved in an industry that offers such a variation, and I am passionately dedicated to my role at Imperial Homes. Having worked in development for the last 15 years and being with Imperial Homes since 2019, the industry has seen some seismic changes and constant challenges, the likes of Brexit, Covid and political imbalance has forced us to think more laterally, diversify our business and ultimately grow more resilient to movement. Whilst these industry challenges are often hugely frustrating, I consider as a company we have flourished, matured, and strengthened. We are now planning and building more properties than ever, and have an amazing team of highly skilled people, offering us a robust and technically informed foundation to build from.

Since 2013 Imperial Homes has evolved and organically grown into a multi disciplined, concept to completion developer and housebuilder. We have made significant investments employing some of the industries most trusted consultancy firms, built an internal framework of longstanding loyal employees and continue to source fantastic development opportunities throughout the South Coast.
