Situated within the Hampshire village of Medstead, near the historic market town of Alton, The Oaks was a thoughtfully curated collection of just nine homes, bringing together traditional character, carefully chosen materials and a peaceful countryside setting.
The development offered a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes, each designed to feel individual while sitting naturally within the surrounding village streetscape. From the beginning, the focus was on creating homes with lasting appeal, homes that felt settled into their surroundings rather than simply placed within them.
The exteriors were carefully considered to reflect the character of the local area. Cream window frames softened the elevations, while traditional tile hanging and stone window cills added texture, warmth and depth. The combination of materials created a timeless appearance that suited Medstead’s rural setting beautifully, balancing country charm with a clean and elegant finish.

Beyond the architecture itself, The Oaks was designed around the idea of everyday living. Open-plan kitchen and dining spaces created room for family life and entertaining, while practical layouts ensured each home felt both comfortable and functional. Natural light, thoughtful detailing and a calm interior palette helped create spaces that felt welcoming from the moment you stepped through the door.
The show home opened in 2024, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the vision for the development firsthand. At the heart of the home was a beautifully designed kitchen supplied by Elliotts Living Spaces, blending styling with practical family living. The interiors reflected the wider tone of the development, understated and designed with longevity in mind.

One of the defining features of The Oaks was its location. Medstead offers the kind of village lifestyle many buyers search for but rarely find, a place surrounded by countryside yet still well connected to nearby towns and transport links. Country walks, local pubs, independent shops and open green spaces all contribute to the area’s quiet charm, while Alton provides wider amenities and direct rail connections into London.
As a completed development, The Oaks now forms part of the Medstead community.
