What Inspired You to Join the Construction Industry?
Will’s journey began after finishing his A levels, where he spent over a year working on building sites. “I really liked the element of reward when completing a job and enjoyed watching everything gradually come together,” he shared. This hands-on experience opened his eyes to the dynamics of the construction world, particularly the camaraderie among tradespeople and site managers. After closely shadowing a site manager, he decided to pursue a degree in Construction Management, setting him on the path to his current role.
What Do You Enjoy Most About Working at Imperial?
At Imperial Homes, Will has found a culture that resonates with him. “Every colleague is there to help if you need assistance. You feel a sense of importance in your role, not just like another number,” he explained. This supportive environment has made a significant impact on his experience, allowing him to flourish in his position while building strong relationships with his team.

Throughout his time at Imperial, Will has learned many valuable lessons, but one stands out: the importance of relationships. “Building good working relationships with your subcontractors plays a huge part in the success of your project,” he emphasized. Watching a project progress from start to completion is a great feeling of satisfaction, especially knowing you’ve played an important role in getting it over the line.” However, he adds a light-hearted note of caution: “I’d suggest not going into this industry if you can’t deal with the cold winters!”
